About Us / Staff

One-on-one CareHamilton Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation Center was founded in 1998. Our company is a privately owned, independent, out-patient physical therapy practice.

We have expanded and opened clinics in Darby (2003), Corvallis (2007), and our second Hamilton location within the Canyons Athletic club in 2009. We have recently completed state-of-the art facilities in Hamilton (2006) and Corvallis(2009). Our company has experienced significant growth because of our philosophy to exceed our patients’ expectations in our treatment skills and customer service.

Our group of expert therapists’ are proud to be members of the American Physical Therapy Association. We are the only multi-therapist practice in the Bitterroot valley with 100% membership. Our therapists agree to the code of conduct and accepted practices of the American Physical Therapy Association. This is just one more way to ensure you are getting the highest quality physical therapy services available.

Chistopher F. Andersen, MPT, OCS

Christopher F. AndersenChris earned his Master's of Physical Therapy in 2002 as a graduate of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Chris worked for 2 years at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming before joining the Hamilton Physical Therapy staff in April 2004. Although Chris has worked in acute care, the primary focus of his career has been orthopedics and most of his continuing education has been in this area. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Orthopedic Section. In March of 2009 Chris received national recognition becoming board certified in Orthopedics by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Chris enjoys hunting and fly-fishing with his wife, Katelyn in his private time.

Jessica Christensen, ATC

Thomas Parkhill, DPTJessica earned her Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Montana in 2009. Her extensive training included multiple sport coverage as well as significant experience with the Grizzly football program. Jessica provides Athletic Training services to Hamilton High School for all practices, games, and tournaments. She provides care for acute assessment of athletic injuries and prevention services. Jessica continues to further her knowledge of sports medicine through continuing education activities. Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband when not working. They enjoy camping, snowboarding, and playing games with friends.

Kim Gillespie, P.T.A.

Kim Gillespie, P.T.A.Kim earned her Associates Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Pima Medical Institute in Denver, Colorado. Her training included clinical experiences in the Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Outpatient settings as well as experiences with Hippotherapy, Aquatic Therapy, and Home Health. She is trained to aid Physical Therapists with patient rehabilitation by performing a variety of tasks including exercise, massage,traction , and modalities. Kim has plans to expand her experience and gain new skills by attending continuing education courses

Compassionate and effective treatments are hallmarks of Kim’s approach to Physical Therapy. Kim strives to provide excellent continuity of care through communication with patients, physicians, and lead therapists

Kim is a native of Montana, growing up in the Flathead Valley, before moving to Colorado for thirteen years. She enjoys running, biking, hiking, skiing, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.

Tara Mahoney, MSPT, CSCS, OCS

Tara Mahoney, MSPT, CSCSTara earned her Master's of Science and Physical Therapy in 2003 as a graduate of the University of Montana. Tara received her Bachelor of Science in Biology also at the University of Montana in 2001. She has worked in Butte, America at Montana Orthopedics and also has experience as a traveling physical therapist in out-patient and skilled nursing facility settings. Tara's passion in physical therapy is in the ares of orthopedics and sports medicine. She has furthered her professional education in the above areas through numerous conferences and training courses. She received her certification as a Strength and Conditioning specialist in 2005. Tara has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2002 and is an Orthopedic Section Member. In March of 2009 Tara received national recognition becoming board certified in Orthopedics by the American Physical Therapy Association.

When not working, Tara enjoys reading and running. She also likes spending time with her family and friends, especially her boyfriend Shane and her dog Ebony.

Heidi J. Martin, MPT, OCS

Heidi J. MartinHeidi earned her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 1995 as a graduate of Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Heidi received undergraduate training at the University of Montana and Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota. Heidi and her husband Doug opened Hamilton Physical Therapy in 1998. Heidi has received extensive training in Manual Therapy. In March of 2008 Heidi received national recognition becoming board certified in Orthopedics by the American Physical Therapy Association. She continues to attend numerous conferences and training courses to improve her clinical skills. Heidi served as an instructor for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program in Great Falls, Montana, in 1997. Heidi has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1993. She is also a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Heidi is an avid runner and has competed many road races and marathons. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, camping, and gardening.

Douglas J. Martin, MPT, SCS, CSCS

Douglas J. MartinDoug earned his Master's of Physical Therapy in 1995 as a Graduate from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Doug performed most of his undergraduate studies at Pacific Union College in Angwin, California. Upon completion of training with The National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2001, Doug became certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Doug served as an instructor for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program in Great Falls, Montana, in 1997. In 2007, Doug received national recognition by completing specialist certification in sports through the American Physical Therapy Association. The primary focus of Doug's career has been general orthopedics and Sports Rehabilitation. He is a frequent presenter to local groups regarding injury prevention and performance enhancement.

Doug remains very active with continuing education. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1993 and the Sports Section of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2001.

In his private time, Doug enjoys an active lifestyle including hiking, skiing, fishing, triathlons and marathons. He is married to Heidi and has two children.

Mary S. McGee, DPT

Mary S. McGee Mary earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 as a graduate of the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. She also graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mary in 2002. During the time between her undergraduate and graduate degrees she worked as a physical therapy aide at an outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic in Missoula, MT. While attending physical therapy school, Mary was able to participate in a Manual Therapy elective course which included, muscle energy techniques, The Mackenzie Method, strain-counterstrain, and mobilization/manipulation techniques. Mary enjoys working with children and adults of all ages. She has many areas of interest in the professional realm, including: manual therapy, backs, shoulders, core stabilization, aquatic therapy, sports medicine, general orthopedics, and preventative programs. Mary plans on furthering her knowledge, skills, and abilities by attending continuing education courses and conferences. Mary would like to obtain her strength and conditioning specialist certification in the near future. Mary has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2005.

Mary is a former collegiate athlete and enjoys playing softball, basketball, running, and lifting weights. Mary also likes spending time with family and friends, volunteering, working with children, singing, fly fishing, and just being outdoors.

Thomas Parkhill, DPT, OCS, CSCS

Thomas Parkhill, DPTThomas’ academic career was spent at the University of Montana where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2006 following the completion of his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2003. Thomas’ quest for experience has led him through Idaho, Washington, California, Colorado and back to his home state of Montana. Outpatient orthopedics is Thomas’ main passion, although gaining experience in such settings as the Emergency Department broadened his understanding of the wide scope of Physical Therapy. In March of 2010 Thomas received national recognition becoming board certified in Orthopedics by the American Physical Therapy Association. Thomas earned recognition by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a "Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist" in 2009.  This certification demonstrates an advanced level of training and knowledge in areas of strength training, conditioning, performance enhancement, nutrition, and more.

Thomas strives to improve his skills by attending continuing education courses designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of his treatment. He attempts to take an evidence based and holistic approach to each patient. Thomas plans on completing his specialist certification in orthopedics and manual therapy in the next several years. Thomas is a member of the American Physical Therapy association.

Outside of the clinic Thomas enjoys hiking, skiing, biking and camping with his wife Adria and their two golden retrievers Samson and Thule.

Angela L. Saporita, D.P.T.

Angela SaporitaAngie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011 as a graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She also graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Missouri. During physical therapy training, she gained clinical experience working in Texas, Missouri, Utah, and Washington. In addition to treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, Angie also has experience treating womens’s health issues including incontinence, post-partum changes, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Professional areas of interest include manual therapy and the use of evidence-based approaches to increase patients’ function and independence. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2008.

Angie enjoys exploring the Bitterroot Mountains, backpacking, camping, playing soccer, participating in yoga, and learning how to fly fish.

Sheri Stroppel, PT, OCS, CHT

Sheri StroppelSheri earned her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 1995. After graduation, Sheri moved to Mount Vernon, WA where she worked for 8 years in an outpatient clinic. In Washington, she completed continuing education in the treatment of lymphedema, orthopedic assessment, and advanced manual therapy techniques. In 2003, Sheri and her family moved back to Florence, Montana where she began working for Hamilton Physical Therapy. In March of 2008 Sheri received national recognition becoming board certified in Orthopedics by the American Physical Therapy Association. In 2009, Sheri completed her Certification as a Hand Therapist. Sheri is currently the only Certified Hand Therapist who is board certified in Orthopedics in the State of Montana. Sheri also specializes in Women's Health issues and aquatic physical therapy. She has been a guest lecturer for different organizations to educate others regarding lymphedema, fibromyalgia, and the benefits of Physical Therapy. She continues to take advanced continuing education classes to expand her knowledge. Sheri has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1994 and is an Orthopedic Section member. Sheri greatly enjoys her job and improving the quality of life of others.

In her spare time, Sheri remains very busy keeping up with her 2 boys. Sheri and her husband, Rod, enjoy working in their yard, camping, and exposing their children to new life experiences.

Bryce Yasenak, DPT

Bryce YasenakBryce earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA in 2002. Bryce was born and raised in Missoula, MT and completed his undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at the University of Montana. After graduating from physical therapy school, he moved to Great Falls, MT where he worked for two years in an outpatient physical therapy clinic. In 2004, Bryce moved back to western Montana where he began working at Darby Physical Therapy.

Bryce has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2001. His career interests have focused on general orthopedics and sports related injuries. He has attended continuing education courses to advance his evaluation and manual therapy skills. Courses have included: muscle energy techniques for the upper and lower quadrants, pelvic girdle, lumbar spine, and cervical spine. Bryce is planning on achieving his strength and conditioning specialist certification in the near future.

In his free time, Bryce seeks refuge in the great outdoors. He enjoys hiking and backpacking, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his Newfoundland, Naiya.
